Dream Cast had few flaws, but ultimately failed b/c it was easy to hack and SEGA was bleeding money from PICO, Saturn, 32X, SEGA CD, & Game Gear. All failed systems (for the most part).
Still...
Sony did live up to the hype better than the 360, but there were no really good launch titles for the PS2. (360 lacks good launch as well. Especially when it comes to exclusives)

yea that error for the ps2 happened to me three effing times, until i got the thin one. PS its not called a blue/purple dvd game. its called a Cd-rom, dvd drive games are the white ones, and cd-rom is the purp/blue ones

What I don't get is, most of the nintendo consoles last longer than 2 years. I mean I still have the SNES and it works perfectly, but buy a PS2 or PSOne and the ------ consoles die out in a year or more -- and cost way too much to repair it, let alone replace it! ><
Only time will tell if it lasts as long as a snes or a burning cardboard cutout... *waits for release date*

Seriously, those were simply CD's? Dang... I can't believe that load of crap. Urgh. And they noted those games as "DVD-Rom's". Sue Sony for false advertising.

No I'm not kidding
Pokemon has been going around for a full 10 years; it doesn't show signs of stopping.
They have a themepark, stores, merchandise, a household name.
You clearly cannot run from the craze.
Everyone knows what pokemon is. I'm not kidding.

Heh.. lucky you.
I've has a side loader NES that broke. But that's ancient technology.
Little fun fact. THere's a company (I forget the name) that's trying to release a system that plays NES and SNES carts. Nintendo hasn't given them the green light for global production, but they're not goign to sue them since it's not emulation. I read about this in Game Informer.
Still, If you want a successful system, do your Q&A. We already get enough crappy games, last thing we need are our systems failing.

nintendo is the best built system out there. there machines dont scratch there disk nor do they have fans that break and the graphics are actually pretty good. they are not hackable and they are quite durable. i still love ps2 but i think nintendo is best built system out there. Nintendo FTW
